David Khari Webber Chappelle is a famous American comedian, actor, writer and producer. With his insightful observations, he is described as "an unfiltered introspection and poetic social policy, with the ability to illuminate and question painful and cruel subjects". Chappelle is the recipient of several awards, including four Emmy and three Grammy Awards as well as the Mark Twain Award. He is best known for his series of satirical comedy sketches Chappelle's Show. The series, co-written with Neal Brennan, lasted until Chappelle left the series halfway through the production of a third installment. After leaving the show, Chappelle returned to work in popular comedy across America. In 2006, Chappelle was called "America's Comic Genius" by Esquire and in 2013 was a Billboard writer's "The Best".
