In tonight’s CSI: Vegas an older lady shuts a window in her garage. She feels someone in the room and screams. She calls for help. Beau and Gill arrive. The woman says it’s her late husband but they discover it’s actually a young boy.
Josh and Beau meet the nonverbal child at the hospital. His name is Michael. They work to get evidence. They manage to collect a bracelet from him with a promise to return it. They report back to Maxine. They find Michael’s mother. She is a missing person and hasn’t been seen for a while. Other women from her high school are also missing. They contact her parents while digging into an area of interest. They find her body and realize Michael was buried alive next to her. He managed to make his way out of the dirt.
Maxine, Beau, and Josh meet with the grandparents. Beau seems a little irritated with their lack of compassion. Maxine pulls himself and gently tells him he needs to distance himself. Max and Josh head to see Sonya who tells them she thinks Cara, Michael’s mom, was raped and held captive for years. She was also recently pregnant.
Catherine and Allie examine postcards from one of their imprisoned killers. Or so they think. Gill comes in with bees. She thinks they will help bring them to Cara’s killer since they encountered bees. Max tells her to take them away.
Beau and Josh look over a postcard Cara wrote to her parents years back. They find her ex-boyfriend’s, Sam, prints on the card. They track him down. He tells Maxine and Allie he is gay and Cara posed as his girlfriend. He kept her secret that she had an older boyfriend. He never knew who he was. He wanted to keep Cara’s secret as she did for him.
Serena, Josh, and Beau head to Cara’s parent’s home. Beau talks to Michael to be sure he is all right. Josh and Serena head to the basement to look through Cara’s old things hoping to figure out who this older man is. Michael gets upset when he spills his water.
Gill teaches Catherine about bees and how they can help track down decomposing bodies and more. Catherine tells her to slow down with all of her facts. They discover there may be more bodies in the river bed near where Cara was found.
Josh and the gang think they may have found their man. Cara’s old English teacher is named Jake. They take him in. He denies getting Cara pregnant, the rape, holding her hostage, and his involvement with the other missing women. Meanwhile, Gill’s bee obsession pays off after they find the additional body, Cara’s baby.
Max and Beau discover that Cara was submerged in water as well as Michael. Meanwhile, Allie talks to a doctor that is attempting to help Catherine and her discover who wrote the postcards to them.
Beau and Serena head to see Michael and ask him about his mom and what happened with his exposure to water. Beau heads to the basement at the grandparents’ home to get a toy he saw prior when he discovers hidden walls behind a recording booth. It looks like Cara’s stepdad may be involved.
They rip apart the downstairs. They discover a pipe burst and Cara died in the room, submerged in water. She was also raped and impregnated by her stepdad. The stepdad is taken away while they determine her Mom was well aware. They take her away too. Michael finally talks to Beau.
Later, Max tells Beau that Sam, Cara’s ex has stepped up for Michael. He and his partner will care for Michael. Beau tells Max he can no longer work in the field. That night he goes home and checks on his daughters in bed.
