Dak Prescott has emerged as a genuine NFL MVP candidate and a strange new snap cadence could be why.

The superstar quarterback was the star of the show in Dallas Cowboys' 41-35 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night.

Fans couldn't help but notice the quarterback yelling the phrase "yeah here we go!" on pretty much every snap.

"Anyone else hate Dak Prescott’s cadence and how he screams “YEAH HERE WE GO” right before the snap lol," one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

"Is that Dak Prescott yelling “YEAH HERE WE GO” on every snap? Because I can’t stop laughing," someone else said.

"Can CBS please cut Dak Prescott's audio every time he says 'Yeah here we go'", another irritated fan commented.

While Prescott's pre-snap routine had some NFL fans reaching for the mute button, Rodgers believes it's helped the Cowboy become his "favourite quarterback".

“First, I want to talk about Dak. Because he’s become one of my favourite quarterbacks to watch,” Rodgers said during his weekly appearance on 'The Pat McAfee Show'.

“I just love that he’s really playing the position... The last four, five weeks I’ve gotten to see more of their games, and I just want to say, he’s playing the position in a really impressive way.

Rodgers spoke about Dak's new cadence and how it's benefiting the Cowboys offense.

He said: "I just love that he's really playing the position. What I mean by that is, I'm watching him make Ringo calls – that's protection adjustments against these crazy looks, and picking things up.

"I'm watching him bring the tight end back in against zero pressure – and old concept we used to run – and throw a TD to CeeDee Lamb in the back of the end zone. I'm watching him use his cadence beautifully and get into this rhythmic ‘here we go’ … using it as a dummy sometimes, into other cadences."

Rodgers has been cleared to return to practice with the New York Jets less than two months after undergoing surgery on a torn Achilles tendon.

Although the snap cadence may not seem all that important, it's actually crucial for a quarterback to orchestrate an NFL offense.

The cadence is usually made up of a series of phrases or familiar set of words that let the offense know what play to run while also trying to catch defenses off guard.

Dak has switched his cadence up this season following former Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore moving to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dak previously used to yell the phrase "white 80 set" but has changed it to the much less cryptic "here we go" for 2023.

Although it's driving NFL fans up the wall, it seems to be working for Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy's offense.

His team rank first in the NFL in points scored per game (31.5), fifth in total yards per game (392.5), and sixth in passing yards per game (277.2).

Prescott has been central to that production and has entered MVP conversations in recent weeks.

The Cowboys signal caller finished the Commanders game 22-of-32 passing for 331 yards with four TDs, no interceptions and a 142.1 passer rating.

This season he has completed a career-high 70 percent of his attempts for 2,935 yards, 23 TDs and six interceptions with a career-high 107.4 passer rating.

The caveat to all this is that the 8-3 Cowboys have steamrolled much weaker opposition. All eight of their wins this season have come against teams below .500.

Their victories have come against the Giants (twice), Jets, Patriots, Chargers, Rams, Panthers and Commanders.

Where they have come unstuck is against legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Cowboys were demolished 42-10 by the 49ers in Week 5 and suffered a narrow 28-23 defeat to the Eagles on November 5.

Dallas are currently 2nd in the NFC East and have ground to make up on Philadelphia in the coming weeks. Luckily for Dak and the squad they have the chance to avenge the previous defeat when they face Philly again on December 10 at AT&T Stadium.

Matchups with the Bills, Dolphins and Lions follow after that.
