The 30-year-old, who has one year left on his deal, is set to join the Turkish club subject to a medical, personal terms and international clearance.

Fred will fly to Istanbul tomorrow to undergo his medical.

The midfielder spoke of his future in June, reaffirming his desire to be an important player in the squad.

He said: “Of course, I always want to be playing, to be helping my team and gladly today I started and I think we played well.

“(About my future) I still don’t know, I have to talk with my family, I still have one year left in my contract here.”

Fred completed a £52million move to United in 2018 from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.

During his five seasons at the club, the midfielder made 213 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 19 assists in total.

He saw his role slightly change last season with the arrival of Casemiro, regularly being deployed in a more offensive midfield position. The role adaptation paid dividends for the midfielder, with his 12 goal contributions being the highest he has recorded in one campaign for the club.

Man United triggered a one-year extension on Fred’s contract last December.
