Scott David Burrell (born January 12th 1971) is a American Basketball coach, and former athlete. He is currently the head coach of men’s basketball for Southern Connecticut State University. He played on international teams as an active professionally-trained baseball player. Burrell is also among the very one of the first American sportsperson to earn the draft pick for two major sporting groups – the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB).
Burrell has won the NBA champion during the time with the Bulls He was able to play for three more years following the championship (with both the New Jersey Nets and the Hornets) before embarking on a career to the world. Burrell went back to school and received his bachelor’s degree in General Studies from the University of Connecticut on May 8, 2010. He was honored with Scott Burrell Day in Hamden on May 26, 2014. He is married to SportsNet New York reporter Jeané Coakley, with whom he has two kids.
