Simon Baker is an Australian actor and director. He has also been credited as Simon Denny, Simon Baker Denny, and Smiley. He is known for starring on the series The Guardian and The Mentalist, and for his role in the film The Devil Wears Prada.

Simon is the son of Elizabeth and Barry Baker. He is married to Australian actress Rebecca Rigg, with whom he has three children.

Simon’s paternal grandfather was Ronald Howard Baker (the son of Joseph Baker and Elizabeth Crothers). Joseph was born in Undera, Victoria, Australia, the son of David Baker, who was English, and of Bridge Alice Williams, who was Irish. Elizabeth was born in Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Hugh Crothers, who was born in Northern Ireland, and of Elizabeth Stevenson, whose father was born in Scotland.

Simon’s paternal grandmother was Isobel Alice Burgess (the daughter of Daniel George Burgess and Alice Victoria Bryce). Simon’s grandmother Alice was born in Numurkah, Victoria, Australia. Daniel was was the son of Daniel Burgess, who was English, and of Sarah Ann Gear. Simon’s great-grandmother Alice was the daughter of John Bryce, who was Scottish, and of Sarah Ann Fithall, whose parents were English.

Simon’s maternal grandfather was A. H. A. W. Labberton (the son of Herman Cornelis Labberton and Gladys Gray Wilson). Simon’s grandfather was born in The Netherlands. Herman was the son of Albert Labberton and Gesina Willemina Prud’homme van Reine. Gladys was born in Australia, the daughter of Norman Wilson, whose father was born in Ballycloughan, County Antrim, Northern Ireland and whose mother was also born in Ireland, and of Susan Massey Gray.

Simon’s maternal grandmother was Elsa Immink (the daughter of Abraham Immink and Louise Elisabeth Reichard). Elsa was born in The Netherlands. Abraham was the son of Abraham Petrus Immink and Francina Agatha Browne. Louise was the daughter of ethnic German parents, Karl Gustav Reichard, from Mannheim, and Anna Caroline Hauschildt.
